Enabling Virtualized Wireless and Optical Coexistence for 5G and Beyond
Years: September 2022 - August 2026
The EWOC project plans to develop a new converged optical wireless network solution, based on flexible and virtualised infrastructure, for the complete optimisation of resources for beyond 5G requirements. EWOC will target high-capacity, low-latency communications (40-90 GHz), providing the basis for a 50-fold improvement in spectral efficiency.

To practice Social Innovation

“Mai Troppo Tardi” (“Never too late”) is a social innovation project, aimed to develop, consolidate and extend innovative practices to meet the needs of two population segments: young people under 30, and on the other hand, senior people over 65 with difficulty in accessing digital services. These two groups’ combined “weaknesses” can transform into strengths through a skill transfer programme based on intergenerational exchange. Funded by the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers and then by Fondazione Social Venture Giordano dell’Amore.

Device Edge Cloud Intelligent Collaboration framEwork

DECICE aims to develop an AI-based, open and portable cloud management framework for automatic and adaptive optimization and deployment of applications in a federated infrastructure, including computing from the very large (e.g., HPC systems) to the very small (e.g., IoT sensors connected on the edge).
