SAGE

The Data Space for a Sustainable Green Europe
Period: March 2025 - March 2028
SAGE will establish a fully operational Green Deal Data Space (GDDS) aimed at enhancing the accessibility, integration, and utilization of green and environmental data across the EU to support key pillars of the European Green Deal—Zero Pollution, Climate Adaptation, Biodiversity, and the Circular Economy Action Plan. Building directly upon the GDDS GREAT project community and results, and aligning with the Digital Europe Programme's strategic focus on AI, cybersecurity, advanced computing, and data infrastructure, SAGE leverages outcomes from the European Strategy for Data and research facilitated by Horizon Europe.

“Mai Troppo Tardi” (“Never too late") is a social innovation project, aimed to develop, consolidate and extend innovative practices to meet the needs of two population segments: young people under 30, and on the other hand, senior people over 65 with difficulty in accessing digital services. These two groups' combined "weaknesses" can transform into strengths through a skill transfer programme based on intergenerational exchange. Funded by the Italian Presidency of the Council of Ministers and then by Fondazione Social Venture Giordano dell’Amore.

A 12-week, free professional training program aimed at nurturing local talents by providing skill development opportunities in AWS Cloud and job placements for students, unemployed, underemployed individuals, or specific minority groups.
The AWS re/Start program is already present in 14 countries across all continents, and since 2021, it's also available in Italy.

Hacking Development, Visualization and Data Science

Intensive training program aimed at developing skilled professionals in the management and utilization of BIG DATA. Participants delve into topics such as Data Science, Machine and Deep Learning, Data Visualization, and Data Engineering through lectures and real project development. A program developed in collaboration with ISI, TODO, and Axant.

EWOC

Enabling Virtualized Wireless and Optical Coexistence for 5G and Beyond
Years: September 2022 - August 2026
The EWOC project plans to develop a new converged optical wireless network solution, based on flexible and virtualised infrastructure, for the complete optimisation of resources for beyond 5G requirements. EWOC will target high-capacity, low-latency communications (40-90 GHz), providing the basis for a 50-fold improvement in spectral efficiency.

The new frontier of match analysis and scouting

Training course aimed at equipping Italian professional football clubs with the tools to manage the vast amount of data generated by the digital revolution and the use of wearable devices and tracking systems. The goal is to create and train the Football Data Analyst, a new professional figure capable of extracting value from data to support the team's strategy and technical activities.

The initiative boosts the growth of entrepreneurial ventures capable of generating measurable positive societal impact thanks to the access to proprietary datasets (owned by Data Club companies and entities), the creation of public-private collaboration models or between large and small enterprises, and the access to investment capitals. TOP-IX is the operational partner of the project.

The QUID project aims to start the deployment of the Quantum Communication Infrastructure (QCI) in Italy. QUID is deploying systems and networks to test quantum distribution of cryptographic keys, with attention to integrating them with existing communications and will foster the uptake of these systems and networks from use cases.
