Today and tomorrow, the GAIA-X Summit is launching the European cloud computing platform, GAIA-X. TOP-IX Consortium is pleased to announce that it is among the day 1 members.
GAIA-X seeks to break the continent’s reliance on American and Asian platforms. The global market of public cloud computing is controlled by Amazon Web Services (47,8%), followed by Microsoft Azure (15,5%), Alibaba (7,7%), Google (4%) e IBM (1,8 %).
The project was born on the Paris – Belrin axis, then it expanded to a growing number of partners from different European countries. Currently, seven countries are involved and the aim is to further expand the number of European partners.
