MongoTorino and Visualization Dive | Friday 19

By in DevelopmentProgram, Events

Third and final round with the open events organized within the training program BIG DIVE: Friday, October 19th, at ToolBox.

The themes of the day will be two:

– In the morning MongoTorino, an annual event dedicated to non-relational databases. Particularly we will address MONGODB, the highly scalable open source technology developed and supported by the American society 10Gen (Gold Sponsor of BIG DIVE).

Registration (free) here: http://mongotorino2012.eventbrite.it

– In the afternoon, the point of view will move to data visualization. Andy Kirk, publisher and editor at visualisingdata.com, will guide us in this science / art with a lecture entitled “Finding Stories and Telling Stories: Two Sides of Data Visualization”. Moreover the event will close with a contribution by Italy: the demo of Kairos3D platform, that will show us the advantages of a spatial representation compared to the classical two-dimensional view.
