Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) is a global initiative, supported by the Internet Society, that provides crucial fixes to reduce the most common routing threats.
The MANRS Actions were initially designed for network operators, but Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) should also play an active role in protecting the Internet. IXPs can be a collaborative focal point to discuss and promote the importance of routing security. To address the unique needs and concerns of IXPs, the community created a related but separate set of MANRS actions for IXP members.
TOP-IX is now implementing requested actions and is a member of MANRS IXP Programme. You can see the full list of participants directly on related page of MANRS website.
As TOP-IX we strongly believe that each entity that works for the Internet should contribute for its security. Also being a small IXP we cannot be out of this process. We started a couple of years ago with the presentation of Routing Manifesto followed last year with an update on the actions that network operators should take in order to be compliant to MANRS program. Currently only 2 TOP-IX members are MANR members as network operators but we expect the number will grow soon.
